Happy Birthday Son!

Hip Hip Hooray! I had entered this card set in a card challenge over at Creative Knockouts and I was randomly chosen for some free Digis over at Delicious Doodles Shop. How cool is that? So if you want to have some fun, why not visit Creative Knockouts and give it a try! You may be pleasantly surprised. :)

Happy Birthday Son!

A son's birthday is always a special occasion and a time to celebrate with family and friends. Mr. Christopher is 34 today! Now where did the time go?

I went along with the idea of Fall and Family Tree...For me, a birthday is a time to celebrate the birth of the person, to reminisce a little about their journey, to celebrate them. It is their day to shine, wishing them all the best for the rest of their life's journey...

..and so this is what came out of my craft room ~ and heart ;)

Happy birthday son, you will always be the little blonde brown eye boy who not only held my hand but my heart as well. Love you XO

Family Photo Album

A Vertical Paper Bag Album

Family Keepsake

A special place for special memories.
I've been busy in my little craft room, playing around with what I have on hand ~ no purchasing anything new to make this this project! Scrapping your Stash!!

Like all crafters, I remembered purchasing some white 'lunch' bags at Michael's to make a mini album...well, they were sitting in a drawer and the mini didn't come to life...until this past week ;)

This was my first attempt at making a paper bag album and I'm thinking it won't be the last one I make! I loved it. Found a wonderful, helpful tutorial on Youtube, Ginger from My Sisters Scrapper. Hats off to this video! It takes you from the very first step right on through to the finishing touches. Just a great video!

The cover is made from...a cardboard box that I saved for just these instances and covered it up with cardstock and paper, embellished with ribbons, flowers, bling, butterfly from Basic Grey...

This is the spine of the album...

Dollar Store Paper!! and Embellishment...A girl has to use what she has ;)

Each page has a flap that opens up to add pictures, journaling...AND would you believe this paper came from the ...Dollar Store! Yes, I found these papers long ago and when I started pulling out the papers for my pages and the embellishments, I came across these and they actually worked better than the papers I had originally pulled from my stash. The bling is from Michael's. At the top of the page, there are two lager pull out tabs for your pictures and journaling.

Sooooo, this is what I've been up to ~ just playing in my little corner, trying something new and thinking, yup, I will definitely be making another Vertical Paper Bag Album ~ they rock!! I'm thinking maybe a Christmas Stocking stuffer? mmm, what do ya think? Have you tried your hand at making a paper bag album? What have you been crafting this week?
