I'd like to introduce our new addition, Mz. Binou!! We adopted her from our local SPCA through Pet Smart and what a fun, smart bundle of black fur she is!
Every morning I get my 'cat scan' with a final kiss on the nose to let me know all is good. Then she nicely settles with her paws on my shoulders, with a little face rubbing for good measure and settles her behind ...on my keyboard blocking all view of the screen....mmmm, perhaps she is trying to tell me something? lol
If I am crafting, she is sitting right behind me on top of the back of my chair or...yes, you guessed it, on top of my desk amusing herself with EVERYTHING. I also discovered she is a little thief in the making. She loves to pick up my crafting supplies and make off with it...always fun, specially since I usually leave my desk/working area a darn mess.
Oh well, certainly makes for an entertaining life....and knitting bahahah took on a whole new meaning with Mz. Binou around.
Just FYI, we were not sure what to call our new addition, until our little grandson, Liam walked in and met her and immediately he wanted to know what was her name. I thought of Minnie Mouser but according to Mr. Liam, she looked exactly like a Binou...therefore Binou was Christened and from that day forward she is Mz. Binou!
Mmmm, what have I been up to? Well, took a mini break from posting and such, simply due to health and time and not to mention family responsibilities. My mother has been battling skin cancer for years but at the age of 84, it had come back and was a mess. She just finished a month of radiation and is now recuperating at our Community Hospital.
So, not to cry into my Cornflakes, or anything of the sorts as I know everyone has bumps along their way and now it's my turn and we will come out of it fine one way or another ~ it's just time consuming and burns up a lot of energy.
Escaping to my craft room doesn't happen as often as I would like BUT at the same time I do manage a little...and SO enough blabering about nothing here is one of my most recent card projects. Hope you enjoy it!!
Ta~dah!! This card and Box was made for a very special 'sister' who will be turning...shhh 65! Being we are in the month of November and we have experienced a few flakes and cooler weather I decided to go with a Christmas kind of theme. Red and White always stands out fresh and crisp.
To make this card, I managed to us my Big Shot, Silhouette Cameo, some embossing folders and my printer!! A touch of glitter glue to add a little sparkle here and there...oh and how could I forget, I made the box for my card with my trusty Ultimate Tool from Crafter's Companion Boxer Board and also my Martha Stewart Score Board.
A stamp from my stash, a couple of sparkly brads for the center of the poinsettia flowers and a red ribbon to tie it all together.
I cut a 12 X 12 inch white cardstock in half and then scored it with my Martha Stewart Score board to make three equal parts. The firsts flap on the inside I printed a birthday sentiment in the Silhouette Cameo program, cut it out and then layered it with a red nestled shape. Added a smaller poinsettia, sparkly brad for the center of the flower, glitter glue around the boarder and Le Voila!
Big Shot made the corner embellishment from one of my dies.
open up the final flap to reveal....
A Happy 65th Birthday! Note, it's typed in large and bold print...ya know, 65 and all!! Oh so sorry, but I just had to!!! and I should talk, I need glasses for far and close...and it's getting harder and harder to see anything close by!! lol
The box was made with the Ultimate Crafter's Companion Boxer Board, easy peezy. Add corner brackets and a flower...a little ribbon and your all set for a Christmassy Birthday Card Set.
Anyhow, thank you for stopping by and I am hoping to find some spare time to post and play along with all my crafty peeps!
Keep on crafting ~ best therapy in the world!! ;)
From Nanny Donna's (dusty) Corner, take care ~ Hugs!!
